New iPod!

I just treated myself to a new iPod Touch. I'm in love! I haven't bought a new iPod since the 1st generation Touch's came out!

I'm excited because it's smaller than my iPad, so it's easier to carry around. This excites me because now I can blog on the go!

One of the best new features is the camera. It's amazing! I took this picture of my dog, Precious, and uploaded it to Instagram. It's a social media platform built for sharing pictures. You can connect it right to your Twitter and Facebook profiles.

Katy Perry - Ni**as In Paris (Cover)

So Katy Perry decided to cover Jay Z/Kanye West's Ni**as in Paris. Don't worry, she said NINJAS, not the other N-word....


This isn't the first time she's covered a Jay Z song. She did her own rendition of Big Pimpin a few times while on her California Dreams Tour...(I wasn't a big fan)


Personally, I really like this cover of Ni**as in Paris. At the beginning, I get a "female-Shady" feel.

Teaching For Free

I came across this article a little while ago, and had wanted to share it.


The Chester Upland School District in Delaware County, Pennsylvania suffered a serious setback when Gov. Tom Corbett (R) slashed $900 million in education funds from the state budget. The cuts landed hardest on poorer districts, and Chester Upland, which predominantly serves African-American children and relies on state aid for nearly 70 percent of its funding, expects to fall short this school year by $19 million.

Faced with such a shortage of funds, the school district informed its staff that it will not be able to pay their salaries come Wednesday. So the teachers decided to work for free. As one teacher put it, students “need to be educated, so we intend to be on the job”

Why I've been MIA.....

So, I just wanted to apologize to everyone and explain why I have been missing in action (MIA) lately.


I've been suffering from some pretty severe tension headaches and migraines. To the point where it hurt to even just blink, let alone stare at a computer screen for hours. I've even missed work the past few days.


I thought that maybe one of the reasons for the headaches was my eye sight. I noticed that after looking at the computer screen, or reading for an extended period of time, my eye sight would get a little blurred. So, I decided to go into the optometrist and get my eyes checked.


Well, turns out my vision is perfectly fine. However, my eyes strain easily and need a little assistance when I'm reading, working on the computer, or just focusing on anything up close for more than 10 minutes.


What's the solution you ask? Well, two things. Eye exercises, as well as glasses. Luckily, I feel like glasses actually suit me so I was excited when she told me this!


I had already thought about what style I would want, retro-ish, with brown colouring. I figured the size, shape and colour suit my facial shape and skin tone.
I walked into the store and instantly fell in love with these frames. Aren't they gorgeous? I mean, they're Chanel, how can they not be beautiful? I tried them on and fell deeper in love! I can not wait to pick them up tomorrow!


Glasses can be so cute and stylish, aDORKable even! *wink*

Today's challenge was to post a picture of something you wore. My first intention was to take a picture of my legs, because I wore semi-sheer black pantyhose...but every time I took a picture it came out making me look like an alien.

Hair Tutorial - French Braid Side Bun

I am fortunate enough to have long, thick hair. I am able to do pretty much any style with it, though I tend to do the same thing all the time; flat iron and wear it straight down. I have however, become a bit more adventurous. I have put in some long layers and now pretty much exclusively blow dry it with a round brush for volume.


I was searching the good old world wide web for some new, fresh hairstyling tips and came across this video for a French Braid Side Bun. It's simple, yet can be made to look a bit elegant.


The tutorial in the video is easy enough to follow that I might actually try it! I love the finished look. Loose, romantic and fun!

Another great website for beauty tips is The Beauty Department. They have a tutorial for an Elaborate Braid Bun that would take a bit more work than the video above; but not by much! I think it would be great for a date night, or a night out on the town!

A Passion for Pictures

Photography has always been a passion of mine, ever since my first (and only) photography class in high school. I love putting my extremely over active imagination to work, and seeing the outcome. What I see through the lens may be perceived in a completely different way by someone else.


The things you can capture, the angles, the lighting....I love it all.


I am planning on getting more into photography, and shaing my adventures with all of you!


This is the camera I am saving my pennies for. The Canon EOS Rebel T3i . It's the perfect entry level DSLR camera for beginners looking to go pro.

Yoga, for Beginners

I have only tried Hot Yoga a handful of times. Though each time I have loved it, I have always felt a little out of place. I don't know the positions, I don't know the lingo, I sometimes felt as though I should just sit in the back and use it as my own personal sauna....

Anyways....I came across this post via Health.com on Twitter, and found it quite helpful. It shows more than 20 basic moves, complete with photos and easy, printable instructions.
