Never Satisfied

Dear JennJenn,
I have worked various jobs over the years, and have always felt like something was missing. I've excelled at every job I have ever had; and never been fired. I make very good money, so I can't complain on that end. However, after about 6 months. on the job...I get bored. I get the itch to quit and find a new job. Whenever I accept a new job offer, I'm overly excited. I commit and give it 110%. That excitement wears off and I become depressed and hate going into work. I'm a 30 year old woman and I see the people around me thriving in their careers and that just makes me feel worse. What's wrong with me?

Dear Never Satisfied,

I know exactly what you’re going through. I myself have been there. I think you need to take a step back and think about what your really want to do in life. What do you LOVE to do? Some people can live their whole life, working a “regular” job, clocking their hours and collecting their pay cheques. I don;t think you’re one of these people. Maybe you are getting bored so easily because your are not being challenged enough? I suggest following through with your passion(s). Love baking? Do that! Love writing? Start a blog! Sure, you may not make the same amount of money…but you’ll be happier if you’re doing something you love.
There are lots of books on finding your passion, such as Discover Your Passion: An Intuitive Search to Find Your Purpose in Life.
