Pledge to #BanBossy

"Be brave, be you. I'm not bossy, I'm the boss." - Beyonce

Just when you thought Queen Bey couldn't be any wiser, she goes and drops some prolific words like that!

It's a shame that in 2014, this is still even an issue, but we have to face reality; it is. Men and women should receive equal treatment, and should not be discriminated against based on gender.

When a little boy takes a stand and voices his opinion, he is labeled a "leader", but when a little girl does the same thing, she'll be referred to as "bossy". I have 2 young nieces, and the idea that they will grow up not thinking they can be "leaders" does not sit well with me.

"Words like bossy send a message: don't raise your hand or speak up.
By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys -
a trend that continues into adulthood.
Together we can encourage girls to lead."

Pledge to #BanBossy.
