I’m a simple gal…a natural homebody. I know, I’m often out at events and running around town, which I love - but I also love staying in, ordering in some take-out and watching a movie. Nothing
better than cozying up with someone you love and watching a movie, right? And
hello, when you’re at home you can wear your super-comfy, not socially acceptable onsie. I still haven’t found
a way to rock my sock monkey onsie in public….yet.

Redbox Blanket - Perfect for movie night! |
I was invited last week to a Redbox PopUp Movie Night. There
was a small group of us, probably about 10 – and we gathered for drinks, snacks
and a movie night! We chatted and sipped on sangria prior to heading to the
media room where we then watch The Grand Budapest Hotel. The movie had our
group literally laughing out loud on more than one occasion!
Redbox is a great solution to the question, “What are we
going to watch?” With over 1,300 self-serve kiosks across Canada , Redbox has already rented out more than
6 million discs over the 3 years they have been in Canada . That’s a whole lot of
popcorn being made to watch these movies at home! Redbox offers the ability to
stay in the comfort of your own home solo or with friends/loved ones and have
an “old-fashioned” movie night. Offering a variety of DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs,
ranging in genres from romantic comedies to thrillers and everything in between
– Redbox has you covered.
Bonus – Redbox is priced as a steal! No joke! When you rent
a movie from your television provider, you can pay anywhere from $3.99 to $12.99!
For a 24-hour period! That’s crazy! With Redbox, it’s $1.50 a day. That’s it.
And if after 20 days you haven’t returned the DVD – you then own it. (But you
should ALWAYS return the discs! No one wants to pay $30 for a DVD!) Not only will you be able to find old classics
but also some pretty new releases as well! Even movies that were just in
theatres about 2 weeks ago are available! You can browse the Redbox site to see
the titles available, and if you already have an account you can even put some
on hold for pick up!
When you rent from Redbox you don’t even have to return the
discs to the same location. So the next time you’re planning a long road trip
with the kids, think about grabbing a couple movies for them to keep them busy
in the back seat! You can rent from a location in Toronto ,
and head over to Winnipeg
and return it there! (Or wherever it is that you’re going!)

Fun Times Ahead with Redbox Canada Photo Credit: Redbox Facebook |
REDBOX has some great tips for planning your next movie night!
- Keep Your Audience In Mind:
Not everyone enjoys a scare that
forces you to cover your eyes or peak under the bed before falling asleep. Try
to pick a genre that everyone will enjoy by checking out some of the latest
movies reviews you plan to watch. This will give you a good idea on what movies
are hot and what’s not.
- Prepare Your Personal Theatre:
Grab your favourite blanket, dim
the lights, turn up the volume and don’t forget the snacks. Wacthing a movive
just isn’t the same without popcorn.
- Get Your Gab On:
Get caught up before the movie
starts, This will allow for fewer interruptions throughout. Put your phones on
silent or vibrate. There’s nothing worse than a phone ringing during one of the
most suspenseful parts of a movie.
- Intermission:
The popcorn needs to be refilled
and the dog needs to be let out. Set a time for a quick 5-minute intermission
to do what you need to do.
- Rent With Ease:
Movie night can be any night of
the week, even on the go! With Redbox, you can reserve your movie online and
pick up and return to any Redbox across Canada !
