My Wanderlust Wishlist - Volume One - Canada

I love to travel. Obviously. This is not something I can hide very easily! Over the past couple years I have been fortunate enough to go on a few epic road trips across North America - yet there is still so much more I NEED to see!

After driving from the west from Vancouver to Toronto, I have been left with an desire to travel east! The furthest east I have been is to Montreal, which was great - but there are still some places in Canada that I would love to explore! And not just east - I want to travel north and west as well! I want to see it all! LOL

I've put together a short list of some Canadian destinations I would love to visit.

Prince Edward Island, Canada

As I mentioned, though I have driven across a lot of Canada I haven't made my way out east yet, and I'm not sure why not! I would love to visit the Atlantic provinces, especially Prince Edward Island. Known as the Gentle Island, with a rich heritage, vast farmland and miles of beaches - the culinary experiences to be had are apparently out of this world!

Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada

Yellowknife, North West Territories
Yellowknife

Most people avoid the Northwest Territories on account of the cold weather and lack of hours of sunshine for the majority of the year - but I have always wanted to visit! Yellowknife is about 400 km south of the Arctic Circle and you can view the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights while there. You can also go on dog-sled rides and so much more! For someone who lives in the big city - seeing the Northern Lights is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I would not want to miss out on!

Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada

I was lucky enough to spend a night in Thunder Bay, Ontario while driving back from Vancouver back in 2012. I fell in love with Thunder Bay instantly! It's a beautiful place, as you can see from the picture. Thunder Bay is on the shores of the world's largest fresh water lake - Lake Superior. Since my one night there in 2012 I have been wanting to go back and explore more!

Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada

Newfoundland & Labrador
As the easternmost point of Canada, Newfoundland & Labrador seems like it would be a beautiful place to visit. With whale watching and such a rich heritage - there would be no shortage of things to do and discover in Newfoundland & Labrador! Did you know the Vikings first discovered Newfoundland & Labrador over 1,000 years ago? And as it is the easternmost point of Canada - the sun rises there first. Can you imagine viewing the sun rise over the Atlantic ocean? Breathtaking - I'm sure!

Have you been lucky enough to have visited any of these places?

Do you have any places in Canada that are on YOUR travel wish list?
