The Delicious Food Show is a 3 day event filled with food, cooking demos, tastings, hands-on workshops, hundreds of exhibitors, food, book signings, appearances by Food Network and celebrity chefs and more food. Did I mention there was food? And of course, lots of wine...and other alcoholic bevvies!

When I attended The Delicious Food Show - it was on the last day of the event. I had been following along with everyone's tweets and Instagram posts though and knew that when I got there - I had to make my way directly to Abbey's Kitchen Stadium. Abbey's Kitchen Stadium was a place that brought together some of the city's hottest restaurant chefs to compete all weekend.

From Friday until Saturday afternoon, guests were able to try out different dishes from all of the chefs for $5 each and place their votes for their favourites. Then, on Sunday afternoon - the top 4 chefs competed in a timed competition on stage with celebrity judges judging each dish.

There was audience participation too because Abbey's Kitchen Stadium also gave away gift baskets from their sponsors! This made for some very happy people. Lagostina cookware, Lemon Lily Tea baskets, Fresita bottles and so much more were given away to some lucky winners who were able to answer some questions Abbey threw out.

Each chef had 10 minutes to recreate the dish for each of the judges. With the ever-so-lovely Abbey hosting the competition, and a panel of food enthusiast celebrity judges - there was plenty of banter back and forth. With one liners popping out like there was no tomorrow - how could you expect NOT to laugh?! LOL

It was a fun competition to watch because each chef was equally enthusiastic about their dish and actually quite competitive! The winning chef won a gift basket filled with goodies from the sponsors, and most importantly - bragging rights!

The four dishes that made it to the final competition were:

After each chef completed their dishes, the judges tallied their scores to declare a winner. All the chefs were brought back out and as the anticipation grew, in a dramatic fashion - the winner was revealed!

*drum roll please*

Though the competition may have finished, there were still many food options to choose from. at Abbey's Kitchen Stadium. The sesame balls with strawberries and a Fresita glaze from Dailo were one of the hot choices among guests. Drizzled with the Fresita glaze - this was a delicious treat!

There was also a Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart with raspberries and Fresita from Splendido. How gorgeous is that presentation? How can anything "salted caramel" not taste delicious? Is that even possible? I think not. #delicious #allofthenoms #hashtag

Before the competition - I had tried the wings from Home of the Brave (obvs). This was the first dish we ordered! LOL These were absolutely delicious! Big and juicy and perfectly fried. I had no idea that Home of the Brave does a weekly special on wings every Thursday night - highlighting a different flavour each week. Now I know where I'll be on Thursday nights if you need to find me! Have you ever been? Those slushies they make are dangerous but delish!

I also tried the pasta fagioli. I'm a big fan of pasta (feed me all of the carbs please and thank you), and with pasta fagiloi there has to be a good mix of pastachickpeas and meat (pork in this case). Personally - I really enjoyed this dish. It's not the normal pasta dish one would expect, and the chickpeas add a different element to the dish, both in texture and taste

As one of the sponsors for Abbey's Kitchen Stadium - Fresita was flowing at The Delicious Food Show! Now, if you've never tried Fresita - you are missing out! It's a Chilean sparkling wine fused with fresh, handpicked strawberries from the south of Chile. The blend of Chardonnay, Savignon Blanc and Moscatel create the base of Fresita, then the fresh strawberries are added resulting in a fruity, sweet delicious wine!

I was lucky enough to have tried Fresita at a different event at the iYellow Wine Cave, where I actually won a bottle! It didn't last long at home though - on account of its deliciousness. LOL

FUN FACT: The very first strawberries discovered were actually discovered in Chile's Patagonia and were actually white!

I had a great time at The Delicious Food Show. Before heading home we stopped and treated ourselves to a box a couple of Von Doughnuts because apparently I'm a glutton and just couldn't stop eating that day! LOL

There was so much to see and do at the show...from ordering a smoked tequila drink with Blue Hour Tequila to seeing Matty from Rock Lobster doing his thing - there was so much to take in! I'm looking forward to checking it out again next year, and giving myself even more time to stuff my face enjoy myself
